WhatsApp is currently working on its Dark mode, and fingerprint unlock features. 2018 has ended and this new year will bring tons of new features to its global chatting app.

With around 1.5 billion monthly users and even more, Facebook-owned WhatsApp is no doubt one of the best messaging app which gained importance over time. Now it is not just a messaging app instead, it is filled with pretty good features which are beyond a normal messaging app. With the help of WhatsApp, now you can send images, videos, location, video call, group call, and many more.

The previous year was awesome as WhatsApp has added features like the sticker with their emoji drawer. This year they are working on their most awaited feature: WhatsApp Dark mode. WhatsApp is constantly evolving it’s worldwide used messenger app.

WhatsApp has gradually gained #1 position amongst all the chat apps available in the market. These are some of the newest updates that you should expect in this new year.

1- Whatsapp Dark mode

Forwarding messages in the night will now be less stressful into your eyes. This new feature named WhatsApp Dark Mode will dim the interface of WhatsApp in the night. Users can also save some battery as brighter screen consumes more energy compared to a darker screen. 

WABetaInfo, recently tweeted about this big update. (1) It says:-

WhatsApp is rolling out today Dark mode, Touch ID, polls in groups, pinned messages, username to hide the phone number and new groups with 4096 participants for all iOS, Android, Windows Phone users! And WhatsApp for Apple Watch is available now on AppStore!

2- Fingerprint Unlock

Rumors are around the corner about fingerprint lock in WhatsApp. Where privacy is concerned, WhatsApp has taken many steps regarding this. Previous years updates which include message forward limit, a forward label on the messages are the result of this.

In some few updates later, you can unlock WhatsApp with your fingerprint similar like other banking or wallet apps.

Every time a user wants to check a message or want to use WhatsApp, then he/she will have to unlock with their fingerprint.

This feature will remove the urge to use some other third party locking app. It will help save your memory space.

3 – Video preview

Similar to an image preview through the notification tray, WhatsApp is going to make this possible for videos as well. The current version of WhatsApp only allows gifs and images.

After this update, users will be able to preview videos too in the notification tray. This is handy if you want to check a video without knowing the other person that you were online and have checked his or her message.😜😜

I use this trick always for any message or image as I don’t want the other person to know whether I have checked his/her messages or not, especially when my other half’s message arrives. XD😜😜
