These simple homemade fried garlic potatoes are the best side dish or snacks recipe for any occasion. These garlic potatoes can be served with any cuisine whether it is Indo Chinese or South Indian cuisine. The greatest advantage of this garlic potatoes recipe is that you can either roast it on a microwave or deep fry them.

A garlic potato is the best combination one could ever have with your brunch or dinner recipes. This recipe has 2 ways of cooking. First, is using a microwave and the second is by deep-frying. I will prefer using a microwave as it will maintain the health benefits of garlic in this fried potatoes recipe.

Garlic Potatoes | Snacks Recipe

To make this garlic potatoes, you would need,

  • Potatoes
  • Refined Oil for deep frying
  • Olive oil/Refined Oil
  • Ground Black Pepper
  • Garlic Paste
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Salt

If Cooking in a Microwave Oven

– Preheat your Microwave oven to 200°C for 10 Minutes. In the meanwhile, place all the potatoes in a bowl and rinse thoroughly. Cut all of them in half and rinse them again under a running tap water.

– Make some holes in all the potatoes with the help of a fork or Toothpick. This is to ensure all the ingredients are very well soaked by the potatoes.

– Mix all the potatoes with olive oil or normal refined oil, salt, minced garlic, and pepper properly. Transfer the potatoes in a baking pan and spread all the potatoes like a layer and roast them for 40 to 55 minutes or until they turn golden brown.

– To check whether the potatoes are cooked or not, poke any potato piece with a knife or fork or toothpick. If it cuts smoothly, then your garlic roasted potatoes are ready to be served.

If you are Deep Frying them

– Place all the potatoes in a bowl and rinse thoroughly. Cut all of them in half and rinse them again under running tap water.

– Make some holes in all the potatoes with the help of a fork or Toothpick. This is to ensure all the ingredients are very well soaked by the potatoes.

– Mix all the potatoes with olive oil or normal refined oil, salt, minced garlic, and pepper properly. Keep aside for 30 to 40 minutes.Now, take a deep pan. Add oil for deep frying the garlic potatoes.

– As soon as the oil is hot, keep the flame on medium to low and carefully slip the potatoes one by one. Keep flipping the potatoes while they are inside the oil.

When the potatoes turn brown and crispy, remove them in a paper towel so that the excess oil is soaked up. Your garlic fried potatoes are ready to be served.

Notes

  • To make the taste better, you can add some seasoning mix like oregano and chili flakes while serving.
  • Making holes in the potatoes before mixing it with ingredients will make sure that all the ingredients are penetrated inside the potatoes making it more mouth-watering from inside as well.
  • It also helps to cook fried potatoes fast.
  • If cooking in a microwave, Olive oil is recommended, as Olive oils are healthy and also it will enhance the taste. It is absolutely optional and depends on your personal choice.
  • You can add some grated cheese on top while serving.
