Chicken schezwan rice recipe – A simple and easy to cook fried rice recipe which is an absolute Desi Chinese delight for the majority of non-veg lovers.
For all those who have followed my recipes, I’m an absolute addict of trying new and easy ways to create a particular dish in a minimum amount of time. So today I have come up with a very easy and quick Chicken Schezwan Fried Rice Recipe which you could easily prepare within a short span of time.
I always like schezwan fried rice or noodles other than normal fried ones. And rainy afternoons, Netflix and a serving of chicken schezwan fried rice is my favorite combination. Well, most of us usually drive off to our favorite Chinese food joint whenever we crave for something spicy but for the days when you can’t here is an easy restaurant-style chicken schezwan rice recipe which you can easily cook at home with a minimum of ingredients!
Ps- There is no fixed recipe for Desi Chinese, what makes the dish unique is all about customizing it as per your liking.
So, let’s begin with our 20 minutes schezwan chicken fried rice recipe.
Bonus- You could also make it using leftover rice! Also, I have added a few tips in the tips section below to give it a personal touch.

Chicken Schezwan Rice | Szechuan Chicken Fried Rice
To make this schezwan chicken fried rice, you would need,
- Boneless Chicken
- Garlic chopped
- Ginger chopped
- Mix Vegetables (Carrots, Beans, Cabbage)
- Onions
- Rice
- Soy Sauce
- Red Chili Sauce
- Vinegar
- Ajinomoto
- Sczehwan Chutney
- Spring Onions
- Salt
- Oil
– Take ½ Cup of rice in a bowl. Rinse well for 2 to 3 times and then soak in water for 10 minutes. After 30 minutes, Boil the rice till 80%. It should be left 20% uncooked as it will get cooked while preparing Chicken Schezwan Fried Rice.
– After the rice is cooked, remove it on a flat plate and let it cool. Also, boil 150 grams of chicken in the same cooker. After it is cooked, remove and let it cool.
– Meanwhile, take a Kadhai. Add 2 Tbsp oil, keeping the flame on medium, add ½ Tsp ginger, garlic, and saute it for 3 minutes.
– Now, add ½ Cup diced onions and saute it till it turns translucent. Add the veggies and saute it again. Fry the veggies for 5 minutes.
– Now, add Soy Sauce, Red Chili Sauce, Vinegar, salt, and chicken pieces. Mix them well, and then add cooked rice.
Saute them till all the sauces, veggies, and chicken pieces are mixed properly with the rice. Lastly, add Ajinomoto and Schezwan Chutney. Mix them well. Cook for 5 minutes and then switch off the flame.
– Top it with diced spring onions. While serving, add a half fried egg or with some extra pieces of chicken on the top.
– Your chicken schezwan rice recipe is ready to be served.

How to Make Homemade Chicken Schezwan Fried Rice
Ingredients

- ½ cup Onions sliced
- ½ cup Rice
- 2 tsp Soy Sauce
- 2 tsp Red Chili Sauce
- ½ tsp Vinegar
- 1 tsp Ajinomoto
- 2 tbsp Sczehwan Chutney
- ¼ cup Spring Onions
- Salt as needed
- 2 tbsp Oil
Instructions

Notes
- You can add 1 Tsp tomato ketchup along with Red Chili Sauce.
- Scrambled egg also goes well along with shredded chicken pieces.
- Adding Ajinomoto is optional.
- You can also top with a half fried egg while serving.
- You can increase or decrease the quantity of Schezwan Chutney according to your preference.
