Reliance Jio GigaFiber Registrations, Pricing, Expected Plans

On this Independence Day, Reliance has started taking up registrations for Reliance Jio GigaFiber. It is a fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband Internet service with a high speed of 1 Gbps speed. A Jio GigaRouter will be provided to handle this speed. All those who subscribe for Jio GigaFiber will get an access to a router and a JioGigaTV. There will be a set-up-box aka the JioGigaTV which will have access to more than 600 TV channels, millions of songs, and thousands of movies. The Reliance JioGigaTV will stream 4K UHD channels and movies and also provide a remote controller for using voice commands.

An all-in-one Service

The company is looking forward to entering an era of the smart home. Jio GigaFiber will also offer some more services like video conferencing, Landline services, IPTV, as well as Virtual Reality. The company is planning to sell many more products like smart bulbs, smart cameras, smoke detectors, IR Blasters, Video dongles, TV cameras, and much more. All these devices can be controlled by MyJio app which is available in the play store.

Will Reliance Jio GigaFiber Offer Free Broadband Connection?

Yes, similar like Jio SIM cards, Jio GigaFiber will also have a preview offer where the company will provide high-speed internet connectivity of up to 100 Mbps for 90 days with a monthly data quota of 100 GB. During this period you will also have an access to Jio’s premium apps. But to avail this preview offer, you have to deposit ₹ 4,500 as a one-time security deposit amount.

Also, the availability of Jio GigaFiber depends on the areas that receive the most requests for a Jio GigaFiber. The company will start this service on the area from where maximum requests have been received.

Jio GigaFiber Registration Process: 

Registrations had already started from 15th August on gigafiber.jio.com

Steps to register for a Jio GigaFiber are as follows:

Step 1: Visit https://gigafiber.jio.com/registration page.

Step 2: Click on change button and type the address where you want a Jio GigaFiber connection.

Step 3: Click on Submit Button.

Step 4: Select whether it is a home address or office address.

Step 5: Click on Confirm Button.

Step 6: Enter your Name and your phone number.

Step 7: After entering all the details, make sure you check on agree all the terms and conditions.

Step 8: Click on generate OTP.

Step 9: You will receive an OTP in your phone number, just enter that OTP and hit Submit.

Step 10: In this screen, you can enter any more addresses where you wish for a Jio GigaFiber connection.

Note: The FTTH service requires an approval from your Society or from RWA. Unless and until they give permission, Jio GigaFiber won’t be installed in your house.

1. If your monthly quota of 100 GB is used up, then you can still enjoy its free service by performing a complementary data Top-up which is of 40 GB using MyJio app or by visiting their website on jio.com.
2. There are no installation charges on preview offer but you have to pay a one-time security deposit of Rs. 4,500 for the that would be taken for the Optical Network Terminal device which is also called as GigaHub Home Gateway. This amount can only be paid through Debit, Credit card, or through Jio Money or PayTM.
3. Jio GigaFiber service is prepaid only.
4. It will provide the fastest internet connection and Fiber networks are not required to be changed after installation as it is upgraded with the latest technology that creates an electronic light pulse for transmission.
5. GigaFiber will enable you to stream 4K UHD video seamlessly, watch 600 plus TV channels, millions of songs, and thousands of movies, and also HD Video conferencing, and variety of camera apps usage.

Expected Plans and its prices

• Jio GigaFiber ₹ 500 Plan

This is the basic plan with a data of 300 GB for a validity of one month (30 days). The speed will be 50Mbps to 300 GB. After this limit is over, you will still be able to use the internet service but at a lower speed.

• Jio GigaFiber ₹ 750 Plan

This plan will provide a data of 450 GB for a validity of one month (30 days). The speed will be 50Mbps to 450 GB. After this limit is over, you will still be able to use the internet service but at a lower speed.

• Jio GigaFiber ₹ 999 Plan

This plan will provide a data of 600 GB for a validity of one month (30 days). The speed will be 100Mbps to 600 GB. After this limit is over, you will still be able to use the internet service but at a lower speed.

• Jio GigaFiber ₹ 1,299 Plan

This plan will provide a data of 750 GB for a validity of one month (30 days). The speed will be 100Mbps to 750 GB. After this limit is over, you will still be able to use the internet service but at a lower speed.

• Jio GigaFiber ₹ 1,500 Plan

This plan will provide a data of 900 GB for a validity of one month (30 days). The speed will be 150Mbps to 900 GB. After this limit is over, you will still be able to use the internet service but at a lower speed.

Jio GigaFiber commercial rollout

An ET report claims that Reliance will kick start to commercially roll out Jio GigaFiber before Diwali. They are planning to provide this service in metro cities and also to 80 percent of top-tier 1 and tier 2 cities.
