There is a trick where you don’t have to download any third-party app to listen to YouTube music. In fact, you don’t even need the YouTube app if you use this trick to listen to music.

You just need a Chrome browser for this trick to complete. That’s all is needed.

How to Play YouTube Videos with Screen Off?

Follow these steps properly and then you can play any YouTube videos on the background.

Note: It might happen that, if you click any YouTube link in your browser, you might be directed to Mobile YouTube App by default. So start with these steps. 

Step 1: Long press on the YouTube app icon, then go to settings.

Or

Go to your device settings, then select Apps & Notifications, and then click on See all Apps. Then click on the YouTube app.

Step 2: Click on the Disable button of the YouTube app.

Step 3: A warning will be shown. Click on the DISABLE APP button. It will disable your YouTube app which is very necessary for this trick to work.

The button labeled as DISABLE  will change to ENABLE if you have successfully disabled the app.

Step 4: Go to the Mobile Chrome browser.

Step 5: Click on the 3 dots on the upper right side of the Browser. 

Step 6: Checkmark the Desktop Site option. A blue tick should appear in the checkbox.

Step 7: Your page will reload. Now, in the search box, type youtube.com.

Step 8: You will enter into the Desktop version of YouTube.

Step 9: Then search for any video in the youtube page.

Step 10:  After your song is loaded, click on the video to play.

Step 11: Now click on the home button of your mobile.

Step 12: As soon as you are out of Chrome browser, your video will be paused.

But, the good part is play controls of the chrome app will be displayed on your notification tray.

Step 13: So, just click on the play button.

Step 14: Then lock your screen. Yayy!! your song will continue to play.

Now, you can listen or play YouTube videos with screen off.
