Crispy Garlic Fried Potatoes Recipe

What’s Cooking India? Today it is Garlic Fried Potatoes. Hello Friends!! I am back with a new quick Recipe that is very easy to make and is healthy too. Now, this Recipe has two ways to cook.

First is through a Microwave and second is by deep frying. I will prefer using a microwave as it will maintain the health benefits of a Garlic in this Fried Potatoes recipe. So, without wasting any more time, let’s start this crispy and tasty Garlic Fried Potatoes Recipe.

Garlic Fried Potatoes Ingredients:

Ingredient Measurement
Small to Medium Potatoes 1 kg
Refined Oil For deep frying
Olive oil If you are cooking in a Microwave
Salt 1 ½ Teaspoon
Grounded Black Pepper 1 Teaspoon
Minced Garlic (Paste) 2 Tablespoons
Parsley (Dhania Patta) 2 Tablespoons




2 Methods to cook Crispy Garlic Fried Potatoes


1) If Cooking in a Microwave Oven.

  • Preheat your Microwave oven to 400 Degree Farenheight (204.44 Degree Celcius) for 10 MInutes.
  • Place all the potatoes in a bowl and rinse thoroughly. If your Potatoes are small then cut all of them in half. And if the potatoes are large, then cut them in quarter sizes.
  • Now, to ensure all our ingredients and very well soaked up by the potatoes, make some holes in them with the help of a fork or Toothpick.
  • Now, mix all the Potatoes with Olive Oil or normal Refined Oil, salt, Minced Garlic, and Pepper.
  • Transfer the potatoes in a pan and spread all the potatoes in one layer.
  • Now, roast the potatoes for 40 to 55 Minutes or until they golden Brown.
  • To check whether the potatoes are cooked or not, poke any potato piece with a knife, and it should go inside very smoothly. If not, then roast it for another 15 minutes.
  • Now, remove the potatoes, sprinkle some parsley and toss it.
  • Oh Ho!! Enjoy hot crispy Garlic Fried Potato.

2) If Deep Frying

  • Place all the potatoes in a bowl and rinse thoroughly. If your Potatoes are small then cut all of them in half. And if the potatoes are large, then cut them in quarter sizes.
  • Now, to ensure all our ingredients and very well soaked up by the potatoes, make some holes in them with the help of a fork or Toothpick.
  • Now, mix all the Potatoes with normal Refined Oil, salt, Minced Garlic, and Pepper.
  • Keep aside for half an hour.
  • Now take a frying utensil to deep fry the potatoes.
  • Heat it on a high flame for 10 MInutes.
  • Now after the oil has started to release a bit of smoke, release the potatoes one by one.
  • Releasing the potatoes one by one will ensure that potatoes do not stick to each other.
  • Keep tossing the potatoes while they are inside the oil.
  • As soon as the potatoes turn Golden Brown, remove the potatoes in a tray to let them cool.
  • Now, transfer the potatoes in a bowl, garnish them with Parsley and toss it once.
  • Now, your crispy Garlic Fried Potatoes are ready to eat.

Tips to make Crispy Garlic Fried Potato

  1. To make the taste better, you can serve the potatoes with some seasoning mix like Oregano and chili flakes or with a Maggi masala.
  2. Making holes in the potatoes before mixing it with ingredients will make sure that all the ingredients are penetrated inside the potatoes making it more mouth watering from inside as well.
  3. Poking also helps to cook fried potatoes fast.
  4. If cooking in a microwave, Olive oil is recommended, as Olive oils are healthy and also it will enhance the taste. It is absolutely optional and depends on your personal choice.
  5. You can also eat potatoes with Schezwan Chutney.
